The provisions of the Retail Shop Leases Act Amendment Act 2015 in relation to disclosure come into force today (25 November 2016).
Agents must ensure that an Assignor Disclosure Statement, together with a copy of the current lease, is given to the prospective buyer seven (7) days prior to the buyer signing the contract.
Agents need to be aware of this time requirement when arranging for business contracts to be signed.
